- If a person has completed insurance periods under the legislation of both Contracting Parties these periods shall be added together for the acquisition, retention or recovery of entitlement to a benefit, in so far as they do not coincide.

- If the legislation of one Contracting Party makes admission to compulsory insurance conditional upon the completion of insurance periods, such periods completed under the legislation of the other Contracting Party shall, to that end, for the purpose of adding periods together, be taken into account, to the extent necessary, as if they were insurance periods completed under the legislation of the first Contracting Party.
