- In any case in which entitlement to a benefit under the social security laws of New Zealand and of the Netherlands depends, in whole or in part, on the nationality of a Contracting Party, a person who is a national of the other Contracting Party shall, for the purposes of a claim for that benefit, be deemed to be a national of the first mentioned Contracting Party.

- The persons to whom this Agreement applies shall be treated equally by each of the Contracting Parties in regards to rights and obligations which arise by virtue of this Agreement in relation to each Contracting Party.
