- Medical examinations of persons who are resident or present in the territory of the other Contracting Party shall be carried out by the institution of this Contracting Party at the request and at the expense of the competent institution. Costs of medical examinations which are required by competent institutions of both Contracting Parties shall not be refunded.

- However, the competent institution reserves the right to have the person concerned examined by a doctor of its own choice in the territory of one of the Contracting Parties.
